What does AIEEE mean?

The AIEEE examination is also known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. It is the basic eligibility test for students in getting admitted to various engineering technical colleges at an undergraduate level. Later, the AIEEE examination changed its name to Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE-main). It is the National Testing Agency or NTA which regularly conducts the examination every year. The mode of the examination conducted for students is a computer-based assessment which is directed four times each year.

Eligibility for AIEEE examination.

The prerequisites for appearing in the JEE Main exam are as follows:

• The candidate should have passed class 12 or the synonymous examination in the preceding year.
• In his +2 he should have subjects like Mathematics, physics, or any other accepted technical subjects.
• The AICTE should recognize those subjects after getting qualified from a recognized university or board.

Structure for the paper.

The AIEEE examination is held in thirteen languages, inclusive of English, Hindi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bengali, etc. And primarily the examination consists of two papers.

• Paper 1. It is designed for BE or the B Tech courses.
• And Paper 2 is framed for B Arch or the B. Planning courses.

Paper 1 until 2018 mainly gave options for both the pen and paper mode or in online mode. But later the HRD ministry, CBSE agreed to coordinate the examination for online mode only.

For both the papers, students can make a consecutive attempt three times for clearing the examination. All over India, the JEE MAIN examination will select 2,24000 ranked students for successfully qualifying for the examination. And once selected for the JEE MAIN preliminary examination, a student can proceed with JEE Advanced.
