What does ISMC mean?

ISMC stands for Indian Standard Medium Channel. It is a term used in Construction and Civil Engineering. These are the types of channels known for their sturdiness and their strength. They are used heavily for construction purposes and are intentionally made heavy so that they could uplift the site under construction to prevent its collapse.

The cross-section of these channels usually consists of a web that is commonly arranged vertically whereas the top and bottom of the web have flanges that stick out to the web.

Why are Indian Medium Standard Channels used so often?

The ISM Channels are C-shaped and are used when the maximum contact area is required.
