What does BVV mean?

The Bovine Veins Virus (PI-3) is a paramyxovirus, which means it’s an RNA virus. Cattle infections induced by PI-3 are prevalent. Although PI-3 has the ability to cause disease, it is most commonly linked to mild to latent infections. The most essential effect of PI-3 is that it acts as an initiator, causing secondary bacterial meningitis to develop.

Lesions & Clinical Findings:

Pyrexia, coughing, serious sinus & lacrimal drainage, increased respiration rate, and increased breath sounds are all clinical symptoms. With the development of streptococcus pneumonia, the severity of the symptoms worsens. Uncomplicated PI-3 pneumonia does not usually result in death.
