What does EACO mean?

The full form of EACO is Emmanuel Alliance Church Of Ottawa. EACO is a member of two churches – the Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches Associations and The Christian and Missionary Alliance of Canada. 

The EACO has gone through different development stages. From developing into cross-cultural churches to other dual languages, it has taken steps to plant the church and create it in three languages – Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.

Phases of establishment

First stage – August 1989 to August 1991

• In 1989, the Ottawa Chinese Church sent seven families to the Kanata to fulfill the spiritual needs of the Cantonese people.
• The first church was established on August 20th, 1990, and in July 1990, the church started the first bible for the children. 

Second Phase – Preparatory Growth Phase

• The phase started in September 1991 and ended in June 1995.
• During this phase, the church moved to Castlefrank Elementary school and was declared the new place for Worship. 
• Many ministries and missions were developed, and the number of followers grew up to 120 people.

Third Phase – Trilingual Ministry Phase

• The phase started in July 1995 and continued until the church moved to the new site – Bells Corner- and it got its new name as the EACO.
• It has the new goal of becoming a cross-cultural church. 

Ministries

Youth Ministries

The church has various ministries with various goals. It has started the youth ministry to discipline the life of youth. 

• Friday Fellowship – It is meant for the students from 7th to 12th standard, which consists of adult volunteers to conduct the events. 
• Sunday School – The classes run for students of 7th to 12th standard. The class curriculum has thought-provoking and informative topics.

Children’s Ministry

The church has classes for the kids from birth to the sixth standard. The classes help children establish a healthy relationship with God through various multi-cultural activities. 

English Ministry

It organizes the English Worship every Sunday at the church, consisting of various groups and small activities.
