What does GPSC mean?

The Gujarat Public Service Commission was established under Article 315 (1) of the constitution of India. Under GPSC, all the functions are well defined for the public service commission. It also has the power to assist the President and Governors of any state.

The GPSC came into effect on 1st May 1960. The GPSC is headed by the chairman and has seven members under it.

Age Limit

• Five years of relaxation to the people from Gujarat’s scheduled caste, backward classes, and scheduled tribe.
• Women from reserved class can get the relaxation up to ten years, age not exceeding more than 45 years.
• Women from the general category can get the relaxation up to 5 years.
• The physically disabled can get the relaxation of 10 years on producing the medical document.
• The Ex-serviceman can get an age relaxation of up to 5 years.
• Government servants are not entitled to any age relaxation.
