Radial Keratotomy is an eye surgery procedure. Radial Keratotomy is classified as a Refractive optical surgery that is used as a treatment for the correction of myopia.

Radial Eye Surgeries are those surgeries that are carried out to enhance and improve the refractive state of the human eye. The eye surgical procedure of Radial Keratotomy was developed by Svyatoslav Fyodorov. Svyatoslav Fyodorov developed the procedure of Radial Keratotomy in 1974. He was a practicing Russian opthalmologist who developed this popular procedure which involves incisions, usually deep for higher effectiveness with a diamond knife.

The surgical procedure of Radial Keratotomy was once very popular in the 1980s. However, currently, it has been replaced as the primary surgical method for the treatment of myopia by newer and more modern surgical procedures such as photorefractive keratectomy, LASIK, Epi LASIK, and phakic intraocular lens. These newer modern procedures are more efficient and effective.
